Meditation Instructor: Dao Malinowski

He was born in Poland and now he enjoys living in Taiwan.

Dao has been on the self discovery journey of yoga for 13 years. 3 years ago he did his Hatha Yoga Teacher training with one of the most respected contemporary Yoga teachers of India-Yogacharya Bharat Shetty in Mysore, south India.

He has been teaching yoga and meditation to students from different backgrounds, levels and ages in Nepal, France and now in Taiwan. Main styles he teaches are classical Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, and Yoga Nidra.

Dao is also working with the healing powers of the sound. He’s often doing sound healing with singing bowls, gongs, didgeridoo, flutes. As well he works with the vibrational power of the mantras – ancient mind protecting tools of the inner sound.

He is a follower of the non-sectarian path of Buddhist meditation, vegan chef (a.k.a ''Vegan Yoga Chef Dao''), passionate photographer and video-maker.

In his free time he likes to study holistic medical traditions of Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine,  depth psychology of C.G. Jung,  Tarot and I Ching and also the Shamanic Plant Medicine.

Through years of experience from practicing within different Buddhist traditions and also by learning from Indian wisdom traditions such as Hatha Yoga, Ayurveda and Advaita Vedanta, Dao is on the path of discovery of the body as the gateway towards psychosomatic integration  (literal meaning of the Sanskrit word ''Yoga'' is ''Union'').

He is deeply interested in sharing and exploring practices and yogic methods of embodied, grounded, somatic meditation, where the key point is to see the own body (''Soma''), as the sacred Other to whom we can trust and listen to for guidance.

Main source of inspiration for him are his teachers and their teachers: B. K. S. Iyengar, Yogacharya Bharat Shetty, Paul Grilley, Sarah Powers.

Reiki Instructor: Iona

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that supports the body’s natural healing capabilities. It works on all levels – spiritual, emotional, physical and mental. Reiki can do no harm. Anybody can benefit from Reiki, even without believing in it.

Iona has been practicing Reiki healing for more than ten years. Back in 2011 when she was introduced to Reiki, just like all of us, she did not know anything about Reiki, however, it took her by surprise with its huge emotional impact. After that, it wasn’t long before she trained in Level 1 so that she could give Reiki to herself, every single day. She then went on to complete the Master Degree in the Usui System of Natural Healing, which enables her  to give Reiki to other people, animals and even plants, as well as situations that she encounters.

In these ten years, Reiki continues to amaze her. As a medical writer, it took her a while at first to stop questioning the reality of this energy and needing to quantify it. “Please relax and accept – be open to something better. You might be surprised by the effects.” Eventually, she accepted that Reiki helps her in so many ways. That is all that she asks of anyone who has a Reiki session.

Space

As human beings (ourselves) are detached from civilization to access a lifestyle of scanty materials, our inner animality generated from primitive natural habitat is emancipated. Inexplicably, we come to our instinctive senses. Siu Siu Laboratory of Primitive Senses is a studio set to explore the environmental transition between urban space and natural forest. Materials of no practical use, such as gloss, grass, Buddha statues, flowers, fragrances, sounds, yoga, along with other existence of spirituality, are employed as a healing process to convert the digital to the analog.
